Dear Family, Friends and Community,

We are writing to you today to share the story of Cassie Liebisch. She is the daughter of personal friends of ours, Ron Liebisch and Mark & Kimberly Schneider. Cassie is a 19-year-old young woman who has been on a challenging health journey for the past five years. Cassie has been fighting multiple illnesses, including Dysautonomia/POTS, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Gastroparesis, Scoliosis, colon dysmotility, and more. Her condition has become debilitating over the past 2-3 years, making it challenging for her to live a normal life.

Cassie's Beads of Courage. - Every bead tells a story along her health journey.
Each represents a visit, a treatment, a procedure, etc.

Cassie has been to various hospitals, including the University of Michigan, Cleveland Clinic, and the University of Toledo, to find a proper diagnosis and a treatment plan that works. Her medical bills alone have already exceeded $30,000 and travel costs have added even more financial strain. In addition, her mother has had to take a leave of absence to care for Cassie, resulting in a loss of income.

Cassie is undergoing more testing to determine what genetic or auto-immune components are present. Specialists are also trying to find a better answer to her chronic pain. She requires treatments and medications to manage her conditions, which have left her feeling drained and exhausted. She requires a 24/7 feeding tube and a PICC line for infusions every other day, making everyday tasks more difficult and time-consuming.

Cass has made some wonderful friends on her health journey that are battling similar health issues

As a community, we want to support Cassie on her journey to get the help she needs. We believe that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in her life. We are asking for donations to help Cassie pay for her medical bills, treatments, and travel expenses. Your contribution can help her continue her journey toward better health and recovery.

Cassie's pediatrician for most of her life. We love Dr. Schultz!

Cassie was a hard-working, determined gymnast for many years until her condition made it impossible to continue. She still has the same grit and determination and is striving to become a Child Life Specialist. She wants to help young people cope with hospitalizations, illness and disability. With lots of hard work, accommodations, and determination, Cassie has been able to complete 36 credits so far. It is our prayer that she can improve enough to someday help others.

Cassie had a great beam routine!

We welcome your prayers and support. We know how powerful it is to receive encouragement during challenging times. If you would like to send a note or letter to Cassie, please use the address provided below. Cassie’s parents- Ron Liebisch and Mark & Kimberly Schneider want to thank you ahead of time for your love and support.

To find out more about some of the conditions that Cassie struggles with please see the links below. Dysautonomia itself is a difficult condition to diagnose and doesn’t have a cure. It usually takes years to get a diagnosis, to find knowledgeable doctors, and a treatment that helps.
