Help Cathy fight Breast Cancer.

During a routine scan a couple months ago, multiple tumors were found, and biopsies were taken, finding that Cathy has breast cancer. She chose to do a lumpectomy, with treatment. The lumpectomy was completed in November and 3 lymph nodes were removed. She was diagnosed to have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma HER 2-Positive Breast Cancer. It is a fast-growing cancer and one that could possibly come back, but she is in great hands with her physicians.

They feel positive that it was found in the early stage, and together we can fight this! She has been through multiple other tests (MRIs, Bone scans, and CTs to name a few).She began her treatment in December. Besides having aches and pains she is hanging in there. She has to continue working through her treatment and has done well thus far, so pray for low side effects. She will have Chemotherapy (Taxol and Herceptin) for 12 weeks, and (Herceptin) continuing for 9 more months. She will also be going through 6 weeks of daily radiation. A year of treatment. She has a long journey ahead of her.

We have had many reach out and offer to help financially and in other ways, which led us to set up this account. We hope to try and decrease the worry and burden financially at least. She will have many more tests and scans to come and more medical bills. Not to mention all the travel back and forth for treatments for the next several months. For those of you that know Cathy, she is the last to ask for help. She is the one to offer her help in any way she can for those in need. It is our turn now to try and help her through this time. She is one of the strongest women we know, and we know she will kick cancer's butt!
