Support Ceil Tart's Art Recovery After Flood
Donation protected
My name is Gillian Tart-Snyder and I live outside of Asheville, NC. My mom, Ceil Tart, is a talented artist and like so many others, she lost a significant portion of her artwork due to the flooding from Tropical Storm Helene. Her pieces were showcased and sold at the Marquee in Asheville's River Arts District. Now, many of her most cherished works are potentially buried in mud along the French Broad River, where they may one day be uncovered as artifacts by some lucky individual.
It's estimated that she lost around $16,000 worth of artwork. It took some persuasion to get her to let me set up this fundraising effort, but when an artist loses their inventory—representing thousands of hours of dedicated work—recouping some of the cost to build it back up becomes essential.
In a spirit of giving back to the community, my mom has insisted on donating 20% of the funds raised to the United Way, which plays a crucial role in supporting local public schools and other vital services.
Please consider donating what you can. If you’re interested in her work, feel free to email me, and I’d be happy to share images of her pieces that were not yet on display.
The funds will be used to support mom while she rebuilds her inventory and finds a new location to sell her work.
Thank you for your support!
