Support Cha Michael’s Fight Against Rare Cancer

Dear Families, Friends, and Supporters,

Today, we want to share some urgent and heartbreaking news about our dear brother Cha Michael Yang. Just two weeks ago, Michael was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer, leiomyosarcoma. It came as a shock to all of us, Michael has always been full of life and energy.

He is an extraordinary individual who has always been there for others. He has always been the one to lend a helping hand, offer a listening ear, or crack a joke to lighten the mood. Michael's positive outlook on life has always been infectious. Even in the darkest of times, he has managed to find a silver lining, spreading joy, laughter, and positivity wherever he goes.

As you can imagine, this diagnosis has brought about a whirlwind of emotions for him and his loved ones. This particular type of cancer is extremely rare, with limited treatment options available. The aggressive nature of the disease requires immediate and intensive medical intervention.

Michael's treatment plan includes a very complex surgery due to the high risk location of the tumor, which is in the main artery/blood vessel leading from his liver to his heart.

Surgery is scheduled to take place on October 2, 2023. Surgery is estimated to take roughly 12 hours to complete. The cost of these life-saving treatment, as well as the ongoing medical consultations and tests, is staggering. The road to recovery is long and exhausting.

But Michael is determined to fight this battle head-on and he will need our support. As his friends and family, we have come together to launch a fundraising campaign to ensure he receives the best possible care and support. The outpouring of love and support that Michael has already received is a testament to the incredible impact he has had on those around him.

But it doesn't end with financial support alone. Your words of encouragement, prayers, and positive thoughts are invaluable. Michael draws strength from the love and support he receives from those around him, and knowing that people are standing by his side gives him the determination to fight even harder.
