Support Chad Craven's Road to Recovery

On Saturday, June 1st, we received the devastating call that my brother, Chad Craven, was involved in a horrific hit & run accident while driving his motorcycle. Around 9:48pm, on state Road 64 in Bradenton, FL, a white Dodge 2500/3500 with a flatbed towing an approx 22’ landscaping trailer committed a hit & run striking my brother off his motorcycle, and leaving him for dead. Truck cut in front of Chad to turn onto 162nd St. E, Bradenton, FL 34211, which is a cul de sac. Video footage shows the truck making a u-turn to then looking at and passing my brother as he was screaming, terrified for his life.

Thankfully, an angel and his wife found him minutes later and were able to render immediate aid and contact our family. He is currently suffering from multiple broken ribs and has a halo around his right leg. They are trying to keep blood flow to his leg to avoid amputation. On his first night at the ICU, he had multiple drops in his blood pressure which delayed his surgery to try to start repair of his shattered leg. Once he was stable enough, he was able to finally get the first surgery to hopefully begin reconstruction. He will have to undergo multiple surgeries in the upcoming weeks, and faces a long road until he can make a full recovery.

The reason why we are asking for your help is his sweet family, his wife, son, and daughter. Chad is the main provider of the household, and is an incredible father and husband who has made his life long mission to fight to give his family a life they truly deserve. Chad is also his wife, Amber’s caretaker due to a spinal cord injury she suffered which resulted in her being in a wheelchair. This tragedy is yet another hardship we pray our family will overcome.

Due to the physical nature of Chad’s work, the extent of his injuries , prognosis, and the lengthy rehabilitation stay he will be facing, we are pleading with you to help them in anyway that you can. Chad’s road to recovery will be long and challenging, and he will incur an immense amount of medical and household bills.
