Support Chai Pani Restaurant Group Employees After Hurricane
Donation protected
Donate directly to our Chai Pani, Botiwalla, and Spicewalla team members in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We have 185 employees in Asheville who have been impacted by this disaster and are temporarily out of work.
Our hometown of Asheville, and the entire Western North Carolina region, have been completely devastated by Hurricane Helene. The French Broad River and Swannanoa River are still receding after reaching their highest levels in recorded history. There are many communities severed from the outside world due to flooding, landslides, and downed trees.
Many of us are still lacking power, water, and cell service. We're continuing to check in on our team members in Asheville and helping them access water, food, and necessities. So far, all of our team members appear to have it made it through the storm okay, but we are still waiting to hear from all of them.
We're really grateful for the outpouring of love and support from near and far. While the restaurants remain closed, we've begun preparing hot meals with World Central Kitchen. Many of our team members are volunteering to cook and package ready-made meals.
We know we have a long road ahead of us, and there is no clear path to reopening our restaurants at this point in time. The funds collected will be granted directly to team members to help them navigate the coming weeks and get the resources they need until we're able to reopen. Please donate what you are able.
With gratitude,
Meherwan, Molly, Isaac, Charlotte & the entire Chai Pani Restaurant Group
