Support Chantal's Children's Road to Recovery

It is with great sadness that we announce that on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, the unthinkable happened to our family. In an ungodly act of violence, our dearest Chantal Cantu was murdered while protecting her daughter from gunfire. She was a loving mother of a 15-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter. Chantal was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and co-worker who knew no boundaries for those in her life.

Chantal’s 10-year-old daughter sustained multiple gunshot wounds to five major organs in her abdomen. She is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) where she has undergone multiple surgeries, and more surgeries are expected. Although Chantal’s 10-year-old daughter is strong and she is a fighter, the road to recovery will be long. We would love nothing more than for her to get back to being that energetic, loving, caring soul that she was prior to this hideous act.

Our family is heartbroken, and we are reaching out to everyone to help support in raising funds. These monetary donations will be needed for ongoing medical expenses and long-term physical therapy for her daughter. Grief counseling and long-term emotional support will be required for both children to deal with the loss of their mother and the trauma associated with the act of violence.

ALL funds will be put into a trust under her children's names. With their grandmother as trustee and legal guardian.
