Support Mother Wrongfully Shot by Police

On May 10, 2020 (Mothers Day) 34 year-old Chantelle Krupka was attempting to arrange a visit with her son with whom she has joint custody and 50/50 custody. Her ex insisted on withholding access to her so so she called several times in an attempt to at least speak with her son. This lead to her ex calling the police, lying on her and weaponizing the police against her. The police arrived at her house more than 10 hours after her last text to “issue a verbal warning” but insisted she come outside. They escalated the situation and because Chantelle was yelling back, they tased her partner, then her, then shot her in the lower abdomen when she was flat on her back. The bullet fractured Chantelle’s right hip. Chantelle underwent two major emergency surgeries and spent 1 week in the hospital. She is still in recovery and in need of therapy that is not covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Right after the shooting, the Police robbed them of their legally grown cannabis and rent money in an attempt to formulate a case against them to criminalize them and create the illusion of justification for the shooting.  They are in need of funds for lawyers fees. Since the incident, both Chantelle and Michael have been working tirelessly to bring light to the injustices that they and many others have suffered at the hands of a very corrupt system. They realize how blessed they are to be alive, as they are the only ones who’ve survived an attack by the Police of this force in 2020. Together with the community, they are pressing forward for change! Please help to support them on this mission! They are still residing in the house where the incident took place. As one can imagine, this causes them a great deal of mental anguish to add to the severe physical and emotional pain. Being there is an intense trigger for Chantelle’s PTSD. Because of discriminating landlords, they will need to pay several months rent upfront in order to secure a new rental home. br />
