Hello, my name is Tyler Angelle. My mom noticed our 7 yr old Maltipoo Charlie was acting abnormal and carried him to our local vet (Marcello Vet) in Raceland, Louisiana yesterday (3-12-25). He was diagnosed with IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) and was administered medication and sent home. This morning when we woke he was Lathargic looking, skin turning yellow, not eating. We called our Vet and was advised to bring him immediately to VetMed hospital for animals in Metairie, Louisiana. Upon arrival, they took Charlie and started blood work and testing. The vet spoke to my mom and dad explaining the severity of his illness, stating that he will be placed in ICU and would need in house hospital care for 3-5 days or as long as a week. Starting off with Blood tranfusions, IV fluids, meds, etc. We are anticipating a hospital bill in excess of $10,000. Which we cannot afford or pay. We Love our lil boy Charlie very much and can’t let him go without trying to reach out to anyone that can possibly help him. He doesn’t have much time. We gave the hospital a down payment which is good till tomorrow evening. If we don’t come up with more money they will stop helping him. So if anyone would be able to donate to help save the lil guy, it would be very much appreciated.
