Support Charlie's Road to Rehabilitation

Charlie and his children, Clara (8) and Logan (5) were on their way to pick up their mom, Vivian, and her friends from a concert on Saturday night, 5/6. Due to the rain and bad weather, the car hydroplaned, spun out of control, and hit a concrete pillar. Clara and Logan sustained minor injuries; however, Charlie suffered near fatal and life-altering injuries including irreversible damage to his spinal cord. With the severity of his spinal cord injury, Charlie will require intensive rehabilitation to adapt to his new way of life.

Charlie has been given a second chance and is determined to continue living his life to the fullest. He will need full-time, comprehensive rehabilitation and care, and with that comes significant financial responsibilities. That is why we are starting this GoFundMe campaign – to help Charlie access the resources he needs to effectively treat and facilitate his recovery. Charlie has always been a fighter, a pillar of strength and the backbone of his community. He is an indispensable contributor at work, an esteemed Navy veteran, a selfless friend and neighbor and above all, the best father, husband and family man. We have all depended on him to do the heavy lifting, from creating and cooking elaborate meals to building custom furniture, executing DIY projects and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He will always welcome you with gracious hospitality and open arms and in return, you feel safe and taken care of.

We love him for his one-liners, dad jokes, stories of Navy life and philosophical musings. And we can't forget his arts and crafts skills that rival that of Martha Stewart’s. Yes, he's a renaissance man with a heart of gold. We celebrate Charlie's many talents and gifts because he is so generous with them but also because he is loved by all, just for being him. His spirit of resilience and tenacity remind us of what is truly important in life. We are thankful his life has been preserved and as we've all relied on him in both big and small ways, now it's our turn to help him.
