Support Charlotte & her Family
Donation protected
Steve and Kara welcomed Charlotte Mae Miracle Martin to the world on April 12th 2017 @6:16pm. Those that know Steve and Kara personally know just how much they wanted this beautiful baby girl. Having lost their son Jaxon at 20wks gestation, they truly felt that Charlotte was their little miracle.
A few hours after she was born the nurses and doctors at Holy Family hospital noticed something was awry. After performing some tests they concluded that Charlotte was having seizures and had some bleeding on her brain. She was immediately transferred to Brigham and Women's hospital in Boston. This is where she remains for further testing and monitoring. A team of over 15 doctors are overseeing Charlotte and trying to figure out exactly what is going on.
Last night a specialist came in to talk with Steve and Kara to go over some of the findings. They believe that shortly after Charlotte was born she was without oxygen which caused the ventricles in her brain to swell and that was when the bleeding started. The bleeding then triggered the seizures. An MRI showed damage to both sides of her little brain which raises great concern for her future prognosis. The doctor also discussed the probability that she has cerebral palsy. While this is not the news Kara and Steve want to hear, they are doing their best to remain positive, lean on their faith and would like everyone to continue to pray.
Kara asked that I keep people posted on the Charlotte's condition since they cannot respond in a timely manner to all the family and friends that have reached out to them. They appreciate all your love, support and prayers during this time.
Financially this is an extremely difficult time. No donation is too small. Let's rally together to support Kara, Steve and their family.
