Support Charlotte’s fight against brain tumour!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hayley and I am fundraising for my best friend who has been battling with a brain tumour for the past 2-3 years. Myself, Katy and those very close to Charlotte want to share her story and explain why we are asking for support.

Charlotte Cochrane’s story…

Many people know our beloved Charlotte, a mother to three beautiful children Farrah 18, Teddy 16 and with her youngest Betsy who has recently just turned 6. She’s a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, auntie, friend and so much more. People that know Char, know that she is the most caring, bubbly, loyal person you could ever meet, yes and a bit fiery, which makes her our Char. Even when you read about her story, we are all still surprised how strong she is being, more so because of her loving family and friends.

In February 2022, at the young age of 38, Charlotte was diagnosed with a grade 2 life threatening ‘astrocytoma’ brain tumour. This was after seeking advice after repeatedly having issues with her hearing, she kept coming over dizzy and having blurry vison, not to mention the headaches.

In April 2022 she underwent a craniotomy to remove as much of the tumour as possible (they only managed to remove 80%). The tumour was entwinned into her brain making it very difficult to remove any more.

A treatment plan was then provided, so from June – September 2022, Charlotte endured numerous rounds of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy.

After the grueling treatment Charlottes quarterly scans revealed the tumour was stable and tried to continue living her life as best as she could but then in December 2023, just before Christmas we were hit with her latest scan showing a new growth.

Within six months and only very recently, in July 2024, the latest scan showed the tumour had progressed and has now spread to the other side of her brain unable to provide a grading as its to dangerous to undergo a biopsy (the tumor is too deep into her brain). Its with a saddened heart that I am telling you this but they have given her only months to a year to live.

This news has hit the family hard as expected, unaware what time they may all have together as a family, so we are trying to raise some money to help Charlotte and her young family try and make this coming year a happy and memorable one as the time they will be spending together is very precious, to give her children some lasting memories.

We are in the process of enquiring about treatment in a clinic in Germany, we are currently putting together the paperwork to send to Germany and if they accept her case, we may need to use this funding to help pay for any care or treatment required (if this becomes an option). We know this kind of clinic is costly and have been told a minimum of £100,000, but we will try anything to give Charlotte another chance or at least extend the precious moments she could spend with her children and family.

If you could help, it would be very much appreciated - We love you Charlotte! xxx
