Create Lasting Memories for Charlie & Family

Donation protected
Charlotte Moller, age five, has terminal cancer. Her family has been informed that her cancer is not responding to chemotherapy or other treatments and that she has as few as two months remaining before passing. Charlie’s parents want to make her remaining time as beautiful and memorable as possible. Your assistance will help them take a family trip and allow Charlie’s father to take time off work to be with his daughter.

In April 2023, four year-old Charlie had a routine physical. The doctor detected a concerning mass in her abdomen and rushed her off for imaging. She was quickly diagnosed with kidney cancer―a Stage IV Diffuse Anaplastic Wilms tumor the size of a softball. The next day, Charlie’s right kidney was removed along with the tumor. She immediately began chemotherapy and radiation.

Her treatment was more than anyone should have to bear in a lifetime. She lost over 20% of her body weight from vomiting and her inability to eat; she developed sores in her mouth, throat, and rectum, which made even going to the bathroom incredibly painful; she developed bone pain in her joints; and so much more.

After almost a full year of this grueling treatment, Charlie rang the bell in March 2024, when scans showed she was cancer-free.

For a few beautiful months, she enjoyed being a normal little girl. She gained weight, her hair began to grow back, and a smile graced her face once more.

To our shock, just months later in July, doctors found a large new tumor the size of a grapefruit on Charlie’s right lung. The tumor was compressing her airway and cutting off her oxygen. Due to its size and location, doctors deemed the tumor inoperable.

Everything Charlie had suffered through in her first round of treatment was tame compared to what she now experienced in the dramatically increased doses of radiation and chemotherapy. At one point, Charlie was reduced to a shell of herself, unable to summon the strength to stand or even speak.

In September, she flew to the Cleveland Clinic to meet with a doctor who thought he could excise it―and the tumor was successfully removed.

Unfortunately, as of mid-October, recent scans have already shown new growths on her lungs. There is no systemic treatment left that doctors believe will save her life, as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery combined have not been enough. Her parents have been encouraged to make the most of the time Charlie has left and to be at peace, knowing that no stone has been unturned.

Our family is still hoping and praying for a miracle. We have faith and peace knowing that all is in the Lord’s hands. However, now is the time to do what we can for Charlie. She is an incredibly sweet, funny, and curious little girl who has endured things no one should have to go through–especially such a young child. We want to make her remaining time as special as possible.

Charlie’s family has drained their savings over the course of her treatment due to deductibles, co-pays, transportation, medicines, accommodations, and more. Her parents would love to take Charlie on a special family trip, fulfilling some of Charlie’s dreams and making wonderful memories.

These funds would also allow her father to take time off of work (since he has depleted all vacation days), so he can spend as much time as possible with Charlie in what doctors consider to be her last days.

Any donations above and beyond what is needed to give a memory-making familial trip and time off will be donated to charities which have positively impacted Charlie’s life, such as the Ronald McDonald house and Make-a-Wish.

If you are able, please consider donating to help this beautiful family during this devastating time. If unable, please pray and keep them in your thoughts.
