Support Cheryl Monahan's Family in Their Time of Loss

Unfortunately I am writing this, and I don’t know where to begin. Cheryl Monahan passed away March 28th 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, Cheryl was 68 years young. It was unexpected and happened quickly without time to process. She was admitted to the hospital monday night with severe pneumonia and was transferred to BID Boston ICU. Tuesday night she was put on a ventilator to support her lungs while they treated the pneumonia and we soon found out Cheryl was the 1 in 200,000 people with a unknown genetic disorder causing malignant hypothermia from the anesthetic/paralytic used during intubation. This is so tragic and unexpected.

Cheryl or to all of us she went by "Ma” was the Matriarch of the family. She was rasising 2 of her grandchildren alone and helped take care of her great grandchildren daily. This has turned their lives upside down, especially the 2 grandchildren living with her.

I want to put together this go fund me on behalf of her family who will need help with funeral costs, hospital bills and any other expenses that may come up unexpected during their grieving process. I wish to include making Lauren and Stephen comfortable as they relocate to their sisters house. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Cheryl left behind her son Glenn Monahan and his fiancé Nicole Fitzpatrick. Her grandchildren Jessica Lally and her fiancé Jim Hurley, Tori Guiducci and her boyfriend Malachi Roman, Lauren Rodrigues, Stephen Rodrigues and John Bono and his wife Kathleen Bono. She was the proudest great grandmother to Austin, Tatum, Kaelob, Audrey, Bodhi, Bella, and Isaiah.

She really was one of a kind. I feel so lucky to have her granddaughters as my best friends and that I got to be part of their little family. I spent many years growing up in her home, when she gave me spare keys to her house in high school I was honored, and always felt a warm welcome when I walked through her door.

We are all blessed and thankful for the time we had with her, but it was just cut way too short.
