Support China Cloud Studios after 15 years!

China Cloud Studios is officially 15 years old. Established in 2010, it is a multimedia community arts space and showcase venue in Vancouver BC. Over the years this space has grown to become a valuable asset to the Vancouver Arts Community. Whether it’s bringing laughter, music, dance, education, opportunities to create or to fundraise for other worthy causes, the cornerstone of China Cloud Studios has always been community and creation; bringing people together through art.

A large part of the sustaining force for China Cloud Studios has always been community rentals. We have always tried to keep rental costs reasonable so as to keep barriers low for those looking for a place to create and showcase their art. After the world slowly opened up again following the global pandemic, we were able to relaunch community events, workshops, classes, recording sessions, rehearsals, and more. We were very much thriving and sustainable again, able to do what we do best!

A few years later, starting around June 2024, we started swimming upstream again as operation costs, bills, unpredictably slow business during usual high seasons, and infrastructure issues we were dealt all mounted at once to create a type of sudden financial struggle we had not been met with since 2020. Much like so many small businesses, we have found ourselves struggling to keep up.

The overwhelming love and support for China Cloud Studios over the years has kept us committed to maintaining its legacy. It has been an honour to literally ‘hold space’ for so many unique people and projects. We sincerely hope that we can continue to keep the doors open and continue to welcome friends and family with open arms as the years go on. Only once before in our history has China Cloud Studios had to illicit financial support, as brilliant creative projects amid our community have always kept things buzzing and thriving. However, in order to get through to the other side of our current financial challenges, we are asking for a little help.

We have set our fundraising goal at $20,000. A contribution toward this goal will help us to pay off retroactive rent fees, standard operating bills, and building maintenance costs accrued. This will allow us to settle accounts, get back to ones and reorganize to effectively create and manage our new business framework. We have already begun rethinking all of the other things we can do as a business, and have been making those necessary changes.

If you have been to China Cloud Studios - If you have laughed your head off at a comedy show, been moved by innovative live music, learned something at a class, presentation, or workshop, made a new friend or been inspired to try something new - we encourage you to donate whatever denomination you are able to give; everything helps. As a result, we can emerge from this well equipped to give back in all of the culturally rich ways we know how. If you can not independently make a donation, renting our beautiful space for your business or entity to use for an event, class, workshop, wrap party, meeting, rehearsal, and more is always a great option that definitely helps.
