Support Choirs at the Various Voices festival

Let’s support the Various Voices festival in Bologna in June 2023 and, in particular, the participation of Ukrainian LGBTQI + Choirs

Various Voices 2023 will be the largest Festival of European LGBTQI + choirs held in Bologna: it is a non-competitive festival that takes place every 4 years in a European city chosen by the assembly of choirs associated with Legato, the European body that collects them.

Various Voices will reach its 15th edition from 14 to 18 June 2023 in the Emilian capital: a unique opportunity to communicate the needs of the LGBTQI + community through music and to promote a more welcoming and inclusive world.

And we want Ukrainian LGBTQI + choirs - Kharkiv's Queer Essence Choir, Vinnytsia's Midnight Descant Choir and an ensemble of Odessa's Qwerty Queer and Kryvyj Rih's Voice is My Life - to be present at the festival without the need to spend anything, given the political situation their country is in.

Donating for the “support program” therefore means guaranteeing travel, food and accommodation for the 40 members of the choirs as well as supporting their own performances during the festival.

In addition, the donations will help support the participation of other choirs: Vikerlased from Estonia; Barcelona Gay Men's Chorus, Barcelona Rainbow Singers, Choir + from Spain; CoLeGas from Portugal; Krakofonia and Voices Gaudii from Poland; Doodles from Czech Republic. All of them have a facilitated participation as they come from difficult contexts, which is why their registration fees for the festival are at a reduced price.

Donating means making Various Voices 2023 even more welcoming and inclusive than before.
