Support Chris and Christy in Their Time of Need

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are Chris and Christy, a married couple who have shared over 38 wonderful years together. Unfortunately, we are currently facing one of the most challenging times in our lives. We find ourselves experiencing homelessness, camped out in a travel trailer at the Sonora Justice Center, and desperately seeking help.

In July, Christy fell ill, initially believing it was just a common flu. However, her condition deteriorated rapidly over the course of two weeks, leaving her weak and bedridden. Despite her best efforts to recover, I knew we had to seek medical attention.

When we rushed her to the hospital, the doctors discovered troubling issues with her kidneys and recommended further testing from a specialist in Modesto. Tragically, after a week apart, I received the devastating news that Christy has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and the prognosis is grim—she may have just six months to live.

The hospital has informed us that she’ll be on oxygen that requires power which would require upgrading our generator. They will only release her to hospice care, given our current situation living in a trailer. With limited options and the weight of medical expenses looming over us, I am reaching out for support. We are trying to raise funds to cover her medical care, transportation and our living expenses during this incredibly difficult time.
