Help Chris Johnson Recover After Brain Surgery

Introduction:

Hi everyone, my name is Chris Johnson, and I’m reaching out for help during a challenging chapter of my life. Recently, I underwent brain surgery, and while I am grateful to be on the road to recovery, the financial strain is becoming overwhelming. I am currently unable to work due to my condition, and the medical bills continue to pile up. I’m asking for your support to help cover the costs of my surgery, recovery, and ongoing medical needs.

My Story:

In August of this year, I had internal bleeding and lost over one half of my blood. I was hospitalized to replenish my blood and to investigate where the bleeding was located. Two weeks later on September 18, 2024 I was found unresponsive in my apartment. The doctors told me that I most likely had been laying there for around 3 days. My bosses Pat Gaines and Karen Bellman had heard from me last on Sunday September 15. The last thing I told them was I was going to the ER because I was having head pain. On September 18, the management sent the exterminator to spray all of the apartments, when they entered my apartment, they saw my foot sticking out from next to my bed. They immediately went to get management. Management called 911. Thankfully, they were able to revive me but I had a massive subdural hematoma and they needed to do immediate brain surgery to release the pressure. I was brought in with no Identification so they didn't know my name or how to contact anyone. They had to have me give consent. I was able to do this and tell them to call my father. His number was the only number I could remember. They needed to preform a second brain surgery on September 22, 2024 because I was still having a brain bleed. While the surgery was necessary to save my life, it has left me unable to work during the recovery process, which is expected to be long and challenging.

During this time, I’ve had to focus on healing and rehabilitating, but the reality of my financial situation is pressing. The costs of surgery, hospital stays, follow-up appointments, medications, and therapy are far beyond what I can manage on my own.

Why I Need Help:

The total cost of my treatment may be upwards of $118,813. That is not including any physical therapies or other medical necessities. I don't have enough funds to cover my medical bills as you all know I am starving artist! :) Let alone funds to support myself while I recover. Because I am unable to work during my recovery, I am struggling to cover even basic living expenses. I’ve set up this GoFundMe to ask for support in covering my medical bills, therapy sessions, and daily expenses until I am able to get back on my feet.
