Update:
After six long, grueling months of job searching, our prayers were finally answered. Bradley received a great job offer and gladly accepted it! He starts work on the 31st, which is a huge blessing. Now, the next step is securing a reliable vehicle for both getting back and forth to work and for me to start DoorDash. I’m also hopeful about securing some new cleaning contracts for post construction sites. A vehicle is absolutely key to our success.
The next prayer we need is for housing. We’re expecting to receive the demand for possession paperwork, which means we have about 30 days before we need to be out of this house. With 16 years of accumulated belongings, this is where our journey gets even more challenging.
We have a great dog, Bugsy, who’s been with me for nearly 10 years as kind of my service and emotional support dog. Most apartment complexes or extended stays don’t allow pets, or they have breed and weight restrictions, so finding a rental house that will allow Bugsy to stay with us is crucial.
Although we are facing some tough times, we haven’t lost hope. We may be getting older, but there’s still plenty of fire and spunk in our hearts, and we will push through these setbacks. We’re working hard to get back to a stable life.
In closing, we want to express our deep gratitude to everyone for their prayers and generous donations. Thank you for your support! Much
“Help Us Get Back on Our Feet After Losing Everything"
Hello, I’m Chrissy and my husband Bradley. We are writing this with a heavy heart and a great deal of humility. After 16 years of dedicated work, my husband recently lost his job. This has been devastating. This sudden loss has turned our lives upside down, and we are now facing the real possibility of eviction. We have fallen greatly behind on bills, and to make matters worse, our car was recently repossessed. These challenges have been incredibly overwhelming, and we are doing everything we can to keep our family safe and stable, but we are in urgent need of help.
He’s actively seeking new employment, but the job market is tough in his field of work, and despite his best efforts, we’ve been unable to secure a new job in time to prevent our mounting financial difficulties. We are now on the verge of eviction, and without a vehicle, we are finding it difficult to get to interviews, medical appointments, and even basic errands.
Bradley lost his job in mid-September, and with it, we also lost our health insurance. I have a heart condition that requires daily medication, which we’ve had to pay for out of pocket. As a result, we applied for Medicaid and an EBT Bridge Card. In January, we were approved for $295 per month for two people. However, the EBT does not cover non-food items like toiletries, soap, deodorant, or other essential necessities, leaving us to pay for these items ourselves.
During all of this chaos, I was able to secure some post-construction site cleaning jobs, last-minute gutter and yard leaf cleaning, and I’ve also been doing DoorDash to help make ends meet. The day our car was repossessed, we had just returned home from a site to eat lunch and clean up before heading out to do DoorDash. As we were getting ready, we heard the tow truck backing in to take the car. Thankfully, we were able to grab all of our supplies before it was taken. Now, we’ve lost the ability to make any money through DoorDash. At this point, we had to swallow our pride and open up to close friends and family about our situation. We asked for rides and to borrow money, not wanting to be a burden on anyone. We need our phones to stay on for job hunting, we need a car, we need lights and heat, and most of all, we need prayers. To make matters worse, I fell severely ill on February 7th, which resulted in a hospital stay. Needless to say, we are in urgent need of help. We never imagined that things would get this bad, and now we’re left feeling desperate and having to reach out for support.
The funds raised through this campaign will help us stay afloat while we work to get back on our feet. We need help to pay rent, avoid eviction, and take care of essential bills and daily needs. The money will also go towards buying a car so we can continue to search for work and maintain stability.
If you’re able to help us in any way, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign with others, it would mean the world to us. We’re not ones to ask for help, but we’ve reached a point where we have no other choice. Your support will make a lasting difference and give us the chance to rebuild our lives and get back to work.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for considering supporting our family during this difficult time. We are deeply grateful for anything you can do.
With love and gratitude, Chrissy and Bradley
