Support Christian Buckner's Olympic Judo Dream

Hi everyone, my name is Christian Buckner and I am trying to achieve my dream of getting to the 2028 Olympics in the sport of judo. I have been doing judo for about 16 years now and have just received my rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt).

I am currently ranked on the USA Judo National Point roster in the -66kg and -73kg weight divisions. My most recent accomplishments GOLD at the Golden State Open. I have been working extremely hard and have committed myself to my dream- working out twice a day, 6-7 days a week.

I have been training under Harbor Judo Dojo and LA Judo club for the past few years and I have currently made the difficult decision of moving away from home to North Carolina. I was just accepted into the National Performance Center where I will be training full time amongst the best athletes in the nation. I will also be working part time to help with my travel and training expenses.

My next step will be the Santo Domingo Pan American Open. This will be my first international senior event and I have been working so hard to get here. This will be an important tournament as it will earn me qualifying points needed to get to the 2028 Olympics.

I am so grateful to be able to follow my Olympic dream at this point in my life and I’m appreciative of all of the help, guidance, and support that I’ve been given thus far. A judo athlete’s journey is long and very expensive. As an adult, I have been trying to carry a full time job all while training and traveling for competitions. As I start on my international training and competition circuit, I am asking for assistance to help me cover those added expenses. Anything that you could donate would be greatly appreciated!!!
