Christy & Jerry's Hurricane Recovery

Last Friday, my Mom and Dad’s home in their small beloved beach community of Redington was devastated by the storm surge caused by Hurricane Helene. Over 5ft of water filled their house, destroying all of their belongings, appliances, HVAC, and causing structural damage. I’m not sure if the house can be salvaged or what the next steps are, but my sister and I are doing as much as we can to help.

I know throughout the years, Christy and Jerry have done a lot for others, as much as they always could. So many of you have reached out asking what you can do, so I’m starting this GoFundMe to help them get back on their feet, salvage what they can, and find a place to live short or long term.

The impacts of this storm were felt far and wide, and it has uprooted and destroyed so many lives. I know that almost everyone has a friend or a loved one struggling in the aftermath, so please, do what you can for those closest to you.

This doesn’t have my parents' blessing, because they would never ask for help, which is so hard to do. But I also know this would help alleviate some of the stress of putting their lives back together. I know how loved they are, and that we will help them rebuild.
