Support Christy's Fight for Recovery

Our deepest gratitude goes out to all who have sent your support, kind words and prayers over the past week.
For those of you that do not know, Christy was diagnosed with tonsil/throat cancer shortly after giving birth in the beginning of August.
On October 17, 2024, Christy entered the hospital for surgery to remove the cancer from her neck. The procedure was successful, and Christy appeared to be on a smooth path to recovery. After three days, her doctors were hopeful that she could return home on Monday, October 21, with a positive outlook on her full recovery.
Tragically, on October 20 at 8:45 a.m., Christy faced a rare and serious complication—a one-in-100,000 event—where a blood clot dislodged in her throat causing her to hemorrhage, filling her lungs with blood. This complication led her to go into respiratory and cardiac arrest. Christy was without a pulse for approximately 15-20 minutes before resuscitation efforts succeeded. She was then rushed into emergency surgery to control the bleeding, which was thankfully achieved, but due to the period her brain was deprived of oxygen, her doctors believe she likely suffered a brain injury.
Currently, Christy remains in the ICU in a coma and on a ventilator. She is unable to respond to commands or stimuli at this time and with each passing day, uncertainty and concern for her recovery weigh heavily on us all.
Christy and her husband, Greg, are brand-new parents to a beautiful baby boy, Grayson, only 11 weeks old, and they are also settling into a new home.
Alongside this unimaginable tragedy, being self employed with limited insurance, medical and household bills are beginning to add strain to an already overwhelming situation.
At this time, our family humbly seeks any help from our remarkable family, friends and community, no matter the size. Your support means the world to us, and together we continue to hold hope for Christy’s recovery.
Please keep Christy in your thoughts and prayers, as we pray together for her strength and healing through this incredibly challenging time. Thank you for standing by Christy and our family.
