Support Chrystal and her Family of 4

Hi, my name is Brooke and I am the founder of a group for women living with Type 1 Diabetes called T1D Sugar Mommas. We support women living with type one diabetes throughout family, planning, pregnancy, and motherhood.

A few years ago I was introduced to a wonderful woman named Chrystal. Through the group we have become friends, and in October 2021 she gave birth to her second child.

This past August, she called me to tell me “thank you for all of the support you have given me and I’m not sure I will be able to speak with you again. I have a brain tumor and I’m may be nonverbal after they remove it.” They were unsuccessful in removing the complete tumor and she also suffered a stroke from the surgery. Once the exams came back it was determined that the brain tumor is terminal.

Now Chrystal has to go through chemo therapy for one year to try and keep the tumor at bay. This has been such a strain on her family, emotionally and her physically.

I feel helpless as a friend, knowing that my dear friend has to bear this devastating news with 2 young children (ages 4 and 1 year old) alongside her wonderful husband, her high school sweetheart.

The medical expenses are exorbitant between treatments for the brain tumor and living with type one diabetes, I am hoping that you will join me in supporting her and her family during this difficult time.
