Support Chunhua's Family

Chunhua is a plant biology professor and mother of four who is battling late stage pancreatic cancer in West Lafayette, IN.  She gave birth to a baby boy, Christopher, by emergency c-section prematurely.  The baby boy is doing fine and growing stronger each day, albeit only weighs 4+ lbs and is still in the NICU at the local hospital.  Unfortunately, during the surgery, doctors discovered quite advance pancreatic cancer requiring immediate treatment.  Chunhua will begin chemotherapy in the next days and we hope this will keep the cancer at bay.  Her husband is taking care of 3 children at home (two boys and a girl, ages 4–13) and the baby may be able to come home in the next week or so. We also hope to bring a relative from a different country to help with general life at home.

 

Chunhua’s family will have numerous unexpected expenses including medical bills, formula and supplies for the new baby, airline tickets for family member(s), and help for the older children.  Please consider giving any amount to help Chunhua and her family get through these very difficult times.
