Support Cianna's Family in Their Time of Loss

Cianna Lee was a vibrant and loving young 15 yr old young girl, who was born in Jamaica. She moved to the United States to be with her father (Damion Lee) and to pursue greater opportunities for her future.

On January 19th, Cianna Lee's life was tragically cut short in a drive-by shooting. That evening, Cianna had been celebrating her grandfather's birthday, a joyful occasion shared with family. After the celebration, Cianna and her stepmother, Xiao Kuang, offered to take Damion’s father home.

As they made their way back, they turned onto Oak St, between Martin Luther King Blvd and Ocean Ave in Jersey City. Suddenly, chaos unfolded. Xiao initially thought she had run over a bottle but quickly realized something far worse had happened—her rear window had been shattered. There were men standing in the street shooting at them.

Xiao called out to Cianna, but there was no response. When she reached out to her, she discovered Cianna was covered in blood. Xiao realized the urgency of the situation and raced Cianna to the emergency room. As Xiao was driving there her tires became flat from the gunshots. She just prayed she would make it to the emergency room.

Around 12:30 a.m., the doctor came out to deliver the devastating news—Cianna no longer had any brain function. She was placed on life support to give her family the opportunity to say their final goodbyes.

It wasn’t until they arrived at the hospital that Xiao realized she, too, had been shot. Thankfully, her injuries were non-life-threatening and were treated. Tragically, Cianna did not survive.
