In January of this year our mom was diagnosed with bladder cancer and we want to rally around her with support and care.
Over the last year, Mom has had several bladder infections treated with antibiotics and after it repeatedly came back, the doctors wanted to look into it more. In a biopsy, cancer was found inside her bladder and muscle lining.
Medical terms: High grade, T2 Stage (muscle invasive) urothelial carcinoma of the bladder. Detrusor (muscle) present and extensively involved by carcinoma.
Simple terms: Bladder cancer that has moved into the muscle lining of the bladder.
Due to this type of cancer, the doctors are acting quickly to prevent it from spreading further through her body. It can move swiftly and they want to keep it at bay.
Mom will receive four rounds of chemotherapy starting this March 18th. We would GREATLY appreciate prayer that her body responds and recovers well from the chemotherapy with no side effects. She will try to continue working during this time.
On May 8th, after she has finished chemotherapy, they will be removing her bladder and additional nearby organs that may have been reached by the cancer. This will be a big life adjustment but one we know is possible.
Following surgery, it’s expected Mom will require at least three months of home care and medical leave from work. The doctors have said however, that ‘full recovery’ can at times, extend to six months depending on the recovery progress.
We are reaching out to you, Cindy’s friends, family, fans and supporters to rally around her as we prepare to battle this disease. Mom is a warrior and already sees herself as a cancer survivor. So please join us in our fight against and victory over cancer!
Your financial donations will support our Mom during her time away from work and to cover some of her initial medical testing and treatment.
We are still learning daily what the full cost of her medical surgery and ongoing treatment will be. We of course, will keep you informed and post here how you can further help.

Mom is one of the strongest women we know and she has been through more challenges than most. She continues to amaze us with her optimism and trust that God is with her along the way.
As hard as all of this is to share, we do it with hopes of gathering around one of the most caring, loving and kind people we know, Cindy. She has always given more than she should and loved deeper than we knew possible.
Let's all stand with her and show her she is not alone and we love her.
