Called "the gutsiest venue " in the three county area, City Repertory Theatre has established itself as a showplace for quality performances of programs not found anywhere else. We try to give Voice to the Voiceless.
From its groundbreaking productions of SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK (in collaboration with the Palm Coast Arts Foundation), to our signature intensive examinations of issues such as "The Language of Abuse" (with the Forgotten Women Project), SHOAH ( an original project examining the Holocaust), Black History Month (programs featuring premiere area talent), THE LARAMIE PROJECT (LBGTA rights), COMMITTED and CUKOO'S NEST (mental health issues), CRT has existed to champion causes of Justice and Human Rights. We also mount shows others steer clear of, such as David Mamet's RACE, HAND TO GOD, SPRING AWAKENING, TWILIGHT, LOS ANGELES, 1992, VENUS IN FUR, and the like.
CRT attracts some of the best actors in the area because we offer diverse plays with challenging roles for experienced actors (part of our mission).
We are the place for alternative theatre. And, as you would expect, we live on our box office. We have established a tradition of excellence over the past nine years but now, like everyone else, we have had to suspend our events due to the threat of COVID 19. We are a small theater and we rent our space. While the other fine theaters in the area have a big patron list and can generate large amounts of revenue with their productions, we have only 50 seats and are very limited in the funds that we bring in. Those funds won't last very long if we are not able to perform. The rent must be paid and the utilities continue even in our down time. Therefore we come to you, patrons and citizens alike, to help us in our need.
Watch excerpts from some of our shows on our Facebook page, join a viewing of a past show through our website at www.crtpalmcoast.com (click the link for tickets) and then if you can, help with a donation here...... Thank you.
