As part of the CITYarts 50 States of Peace initiative, CITYarts is leading and creating a peace mural in Memphis, TN, in collaboration with PaintMemphis, artist- Joseph Boyd, local high schools and middle schools, teachers and students, and community organizations. This project, under the Young Minds Build Bridges program, brings together students and community members to create a powerful public artwork focused on the theme of peace. The mural will be located at 847 S Willett St, Memphis, TN 38114 and will serve as a symbol of peace, unity, and collaboration for the entire community. The creative process begins from October 9th, 2024 and ends on October 14, 2024 with PaintMemphis Festival on October 12, 2024. Join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Witness the unveiling of this beautiful mural and celebrate the power of art to bring people together. With PaintMemphis as a key partner, the project highlights the intersection of art and activism in a city known for its rich history of social movements. This initiative builds on Memphis’s cultural legacy and aims to transform public spaces through the voices and creativity of local youth.
