As my role has shifted within the Evangelical Covenant Church, one thing has remained the same over the past decade: the call and gift mix for developing the God-given potential of leaders and churches (Ephesians 4:11-13). Doors have opened in the Covenant for me to coach clergy/leaders, which accommodates our family’s schedule so I can participate alongside Theo (7) and Grace (5) in seven speech and occupational therapy appointments a week to help them develop their God-given potential.
My mission statement as a Covenant coach is to resource leaders to unlock discoveries, insights, and action steps to live into their calling and lead their organization into the future. I have partnered with ten clergy/leaders to increase insight and agency by asking powerful questions and highlighting their learning. It’s a gift to be in the discovery process alongside the coachee that has ripple effects in her/his personal and organizational transformation. I get to witness and point to the Holy Spirit’s work!
After evaluating a recent Covenant coaching session, mentor coach Rev. Greg Ellis affirmed my giftedness as a coach and encouraged me to become credentialed as a coach. These are his words of affirmation and recommendation:

I have begun the first part of an International Coach Federation (ICF) certified program to become a credentialed leadership coach and to continue to learn the art of coaching. I have $500 of the training fees available through a grant. I’m writing to ask if you would consider a gift to help cover the remaining $3,500 cost of the ICF training.
This funding would help me to continue to offer leadership coaching to Covenant clergy/leaders at a discounted rate of $50-100 per 60-minute session. The going rate for coaching, according to ICF, is $244 per session. When we combine our resources, we can reach the goal of empowering more leaders for transformative ministry. Every gift matters.
- If 5 people gave $50, that would be $250.
- If 5 people gave $100? $500.
- If 11 people gave $250? $2,750.
That would be $3,500 raised!
