About Us:

At Clayton Community Theatre, we’re all about bringing people together through the magic of theatre. We believe in inclusivity and respect for everyone in our community. Our goal is to share the joy of performing arts with our neighbors, celebrating the growing diversity in Clayton through every performance. We embrace the opportunity to learn as we grow and find joy in every step of the journey.

We are a North Carolina Non-Profit Organization, founded in August 2024. Your support will help us to produce a schedule of live theatre events that are commensurate with our Core Pillars:

How it started and how it's going:

June 23, 2024

Nicki Medford posts this question in a few Clayton Facebook groups:

The response was encouraging! Nicki started a Facebook group for those who were interested in getting involved.

Mid-July, 2024

Over 100 members join the interest group on Facebook! Michele Heitner-Brabender and Liza Ginette-Bell join Nicki to form the Clayton Community Theatre leadership team. They select a play, host info sessions, plan auditions, and continue spreading the word.

July 29, 2024

Eileen Proctor joins the leadership team at the Development Director and Katherine Taylor comes on board as the Marketing Director. Nicki's husband, Mike Mustari, steps in to help the initiative as the Finance Manager.

August 13, 2024

Clayton Community Theatre hosts their first audition. 13 actors try out, and 13 actors are cast for the play "Community Garden".

August 19th, 2024

"Community Garden" cast has its first table read!

August 27th, 2024

Clayton Community Theatre North Carolina is approved as a registered nonprofit corporation with the state.

September - Present

The cast has been dedicated to rehearsing, even if it means meeting at Publix grocery store!
Our first performance is confirmed for November 1, 2024.
We are on our way to becoming a 501(3)c nonprofit organization.
We have goals to produce at least 3 shows per year, with smaller, immersive theatre experiences sprinkled in.

The team behind Clayton Community Theatre has big dreams. We are committed, inspired, and driven to establish Clayton Community Theatre as a pillar in our town.

We've already accomplished so much in such a short time with almost no funding. Just imagine what we can do with your support!
