Support Coach Jeff Cade

For those that know Coach Jeff Cade, you know what an incredible human he is. You know how much he cares about people and how he truly wants the best for each person he comes across. He has dedicated his entire life and worked tirelessly to help coach and teach young women and men on and off the soccer. He has touched numerous lives. If you are reading this, he may have impacted you; either through his years of dedication to coaching or perhaps just by being a great friend.

I lost my father unexpectedly in 2015, there one day gone the next. I took a semester off of school and when I returned was still fairly broken. Coach Jeff was there for me through every rough moment. The tears, frustration, the despair, he coached me through it all and not only on the soccer field. Every call at 9 pm when I was grieving, he was there. He even provided me a job coaching to help me stay afloat and continue my educational dreams. I write this anecdote only to show how he was always been there selflessly for others, and now he needs our help.

The past couple of years Coach Jeff’s health has been a struggle. In October of 2018, Coach Jeff was juggling on a soccer field when he collapsed. Originally starting as a stroke, he worked hard at therapy but didn’t quite improve in the way that was expected. Thus, doctors began to look for another diagnosis, arriving at multiple sclerosis. Being determined, he has been working out and in therapy to improve balance, his ability to walk, and speech. A few weeks ago doctors gave him a new diagnosis, no longer MS, they now said he had demyelinating disease with autoimmune encephalitis (a rare disease). This has been and will continue to be a long journey for Coach Jeff and costly as well.

It has hindered his ability to do the one thing he loves most, coach. Unfortunately, he will never coach again in the same capacity that we all had the privilege to experience. Therefore, this has greatly impacted his financial situation, and this is where he needs our help.

He is currently waiting to receive permanent disability in December, but I am hopeful that as a community we can come together to support someone who gave so much to that same community.
