Support Coach Joe and Lerna After Fire Loss
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Tierra Thompson, a former basketball player who Coach Joe has helped through my childhood. I am helping on behalf of Lerna and Joe (aka Coach Joe) Ford, who were affected by the Eaton Canyon fire. All proceeds will go to the Fords!
They have been long-time residents of Altadena, where they raised their family for over 30+ years. Their house was a revolving door for the youth in the '90s.
These two people have been a staple in the Pasadena area in youth groups. Lerna and Coach Joe have helped shape boys' and girls' basketball in the city of Pasadena through the Boys and Girls Club on Fair Oaks. They created a safe space to keep kids off the street and give them a space to use basketball as an outlet for children. Coach Joe was also the head coach for John Muir Girls' basketball team from 2003-2007, where he helped produce 10 Division 1 players (UCLA, CAL, Baylor, Utah State, Kentucky), 1 McDonald's All-American, and 1 WNBA player.
Their relentless efforts to pour into the community have elevated Pasadena/Altadena forever. They are asking for donations to cover unexpected costs. Any donation is greatly appreciated at this time of need.
Lerna and Joe Ford want you to know that their spirits are still high and they are blessed to still be here today. They will be able to overcome this bump in the road and help restore the community.
Thank you
