Support Cole's fight against childhood leukemia
Donation protected
Hello, friends and family,
Allison and Jon received heartbreaking news this month:
Their sweet 2-year-old son Cole was diagnosed with leukemia at his annual doctor's check-up.
This amazing family is resilient, courageous, and incredibly optimistic. But they need our help.
Cole needs in-patient treatment at Mary Bridge for at least a month. If all goes well, he'll then require follow-up medical appointments and indefinite outpatient care. His parents will need to take time off work. His sisters will need to juggle school, activities, and cheering on their baby brother. They all need meals, positive vibes, shoulders to cry on, and words of encouragement.
Please help us rally around Cole and his family to lift them up as they battle this aggressive form of cancer.
Ways you can help:
- Financial contributions. Unplanned healthcare expenses are already starting to grow as Cole takes the first steps in getting healthy. Please consider donating to this cause -- every little bit helps.
- Share Cole's story. Even if you can't donate, sharing the fundraiser spreads the word about Cole's cause beyond your immediate circle, expanding the reach of people in our community. The more people who know about Cole, the better.
- Texts, pictures, and memes. Allison and Jon cannot take phone calls right now, but they're soaking up all the messages you share via social media and text. Keep 'em coming!
- Gift cards. The family will be driving between the hospital and home, so supporting gas trips and quick meals (through UberEats, Starbucks, etc. ) is incredibly helpful.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our dear friends.
*We will share more as we can. Until then, here is a note from Allison about the initial diagnosis:
It's been a roller coaster to say the least. We are still awaiting some testing, but the treatment will be aggressive and he has already had surgery and started chemo. We'll be in the hospital about a month while in this part of the treatment, hoping to transition to outpatient as long as everything goes well. The care team at MaryBridge has been exceptional so far.
We are so lucky we caught it before real symptoms started. We had some bloodwork done at his 2-year well-child appointment because he never seemed to completely recover after an illness he recently had.
This is a journey we had not planned for nor wanted.
However, we are so grateful for such a wonderful support network of family and friends to help us along the way.
With everything going on right now, Jon and I wanted to share this here to keep you all informed while we focus on Cole's health.
And while we appreciate any and all positive thoughts, we do ask that you limit your communication towards us to messages (instead of phone calls), with the understanding that while we are so so grateful for them, we may not be able to respond, or respond right away.
Please send Cole and our family all the positive vibes, prayers or anything else you've got while we fight this thing. #cancersucks
