Honor Colombian Korean War Veterans

Jorge Barón Producciones, along with the SERENITI and FUNVECOREA foundations invite you to make a difference by donating to support the Colombian veterans who fought in Korean War over 70 years ago.

Reinaldo Pulido, Juan de Jesús Martínez, Felix Lozada, and Victor Manuel are just four of the more than 5,000 nearly forgotten heroes who bravely fought in a war almost 15,000 kilometers from their homeland. These courageous men were sent to defend the values of peace and stability in the Western world, leaving their families and risking their lives for the greater good. Sadly, as time has passed, they have been left in obscurity with little support from the state and citizens.

Now, even in their old age, these veterans face a new battle against disease, poverty, loneliness, and the decay of their homes. Here are their stories:

Felix Lozada fought during the first battles of the Korean War. After the conflict, he secured a modest job and lived with financial difficulties. Currently, part of his house’s roof has collapsed, causing significant leaks and flooding whenever it rains heavily. Your donation can help Felix repair his home and live in safety and comfort.

Reinaldo Pulido, a 90-year-old veteran, suffered severe health consequences as a result of the war. He miraculously survived a grenade explosion during the Battle of Pork Chop Hill but received a high dose of shrapnel in his eyes and throat, leading to lifelong health issues. Last year, he developed a respiratory disease that left him dependent on oxygen and affected his mobility, making him unable to navigate his home’s stairs without assistance. Reinaldo urgently needs a stair lift or at least railings on both sides of the staircase to help him move safely. Your support can make his daily life manageable and restore his independence.

Victor Manuel Gonzales fought in the Battle of Old Baldy. He currently lives alone in Gachetá, far from his children in Bogotá, as he refuses to leave his hometown. He urgently needs a nurse to care for him due to his age and the risk of injury. Your contribution can ensure Victor receives the care he deserves and remains connected to his beloved community.

Juan Jesús Martínez served in the Colombian Navy, transporting infantry during the Korean War. After many years of service, he earned a decent pension. Unfortunately, in his old age and due to impaired decision-making capacity, part of his monthly payment has been seized by banks, leaving him with insufficient funds to live well. Your generosity can help Juan regain his financial stability and enjoy a dignified retirement.
