Support Comedian Adam Hmada’s Recovery After NYC Assault

Hey everyone,

This is Omar Jenkins—some of you know me from stand-up or the sketches Adam and I make together. I’m writing this because something really bad happened to Adam over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning around 3 AM, Adam was jumped in the Lower East Side. He was taken to the hospital right after (in an ambulance where he got CAT scans both of which aren't cheap) and treated for facial injuries—his face is severely swollen, and he’s been bedridden ever since. He had to cancel all of his shows this week and is currently unable to work while he recovers, he's gearing up to get ready to pay these medical bills which he definitely can't cover.

For those who know Adam, you know how much heart he puts into everything—whether it's stand-up every night, writing and directing, or building his show The Sultans of Queens from the ground up. He’s someone who rarely ever asks for help but this incident has put him in a difficult spot.

We started this GoFundMe to help cover medical bills, recovery costs, and lost income from the shows he had to cancel. Any amount helps, and if you’re not in a position to donate, even sharing this can go a long way. I’m officially withdrawing on Adam’s behalf and will be sending all donations to him directly outside of GoFundMe.
