Support Community Organizers’ Free Speech
Donation protected
We three Middle Tennessee community organizers have recently become the targets of a frivolous lawsuit. For expressing our First Amendment protected opinions, we are being sued for $800,000. As community organizers and advocates of justice, we know all too well how the legal system can be used to silence and bully individuals, especially the most marginalized. Between the three of us, we hold queer, trans, nonbinary, womxn, disabled, and working class identities. And it is also not lost on us that this lawsuit comes in the midst of a global pandemic. We intend to resist these punitive tactics and to defend ourselves -- and we need your help.
Our goal is to raise funds for our attorney’s fees, and we also commit to donating any additional funds raised to Black Lives Matter Nashville. Might you be able to support us in our defense? Your care, resources, and solidarity are appreciated.
We can’t go into much more detail, but the lawsuit that was filed against us can be found here.
