Support Condé Nast Union Workers On Strike!

The Condé Nast Union is SO CLOSE to finalizing our very first contract, which would grant protections to hundreds of employees. But right at the finish line—as at every other step in this process—management is dragging its feet.
We want to get this contract WRAPPED, but instead of bargaining with us in good faith, management is bringing insulting proposals on key issues like wages and protection of our jobs from permalancers, threatening us with additional layoffs (despite CEO Roger Lynch stating publicly there would be no more), and in some cases, even taking steps backward from their initial proposals, instead of working with us to find a resolution.
We want a contract that honors the work we do and value we bring to the company. We’ve tried to get there by bringing logical, actionable proposals to the table and diligently working through management’s proposals to find common ground. At this point, management could bring us a fair contract that doesn’t unnecessarily cut nearly 100 people’s jobs TODAY. Instead, they are delaying the proceedings and senselessly blaming the union for the hold up.
One thing we know for sure: There is no Condé Nast without us, and the way to demonstrate this clearly is to walk off the job. We are ready to do whatever it takes to win a fair contract.
Management will withhold pay from union members who participate in any future work stoppage, commensurate with the amount of days that we withhold our labor. We want to help union members who may face hardship from losing these wages—that’s where you come in. Members will be able to request funds from this page through a team of union stewards, who will be managing this money and ensuring it goes directly to our members. If we have any extra money leftover after paying out those who request funds, we’ll save it for a possible future Condé United strike fund. If we don’t go on another strike before we ratify our first contract, we’ll donate the funds to another labor cause or strike fund.
We’re so proud of the work our nearly 550 union members do for legendary brands such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Epicurious, Allure, Self, Glamour, GQ, Teen Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, THEM, and Bon Appetit. We appreciate your support of our vision for a better Condé!
