Support Conor: Improving His Quality of Life with CP
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
my name is Eva Harkin.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping my amazing brother, Conor, who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Throughout his life, Conor has faced countless challenges, amongst them being diagnosed with epilepsy and scoliosis, yet he continues to inspire everyone around him with his strength, resilience and incredible spirit.
For those who may not know Cerebral Palsy is a lifelong neurological disorder that affects movement, muscle tone and posture. Over time, it can cause gradual deterioration, making daily activities more challenging as the body weakens. Conor has faced these challenges head-on with incredible strength and perseverance which inspires me everyday. As Conor gets older, the need for specialised care, equipment and resources to support his independence and well-being becomes even more important to help improve his quality of life.
Conor recently endured another knock back to his health as he developed sepsis which resulted in him being hospitalised for a month and he is still in recovery at home. The experience put so much into perspective for our family. Seeing Conor fight through such a serious condition was a stark reminder of how vulnerable his health can be and how important it is to improve his quality of life. Conor has missed out on many experiences due to his condition that most of us take for granted, and this recent scare has only deepened our commitment to ensuring he gets the support he needs to live as full and independently as possible.
I am taking on a personal challenge—I will be doing 100 kilometers a month for the next three months to raise funds. These donations will go directly toward providing the resources Conor needs, including specialized transport, adaptive equipment, and modifications to his living space that will allow him to live more comfortably and independently.
For anyone that knows my brother Conor, they know how he is an inspiration despite the hand that he was dealt, and I’m doing this challenge in his honor. Every step I take is to help make his life a little easier, and I’m asking for your help to make that possible. Every donation, no matter the size, will have a meaningful impact on Conor’s life and his ability to continue thriving and living despite the obstacles he faces.
If you are reading this thank you so much for your generosity and support.
With gratitude,
