Support CooperSurgical Employee after Beirut Blast
CooperSurgical Medical Devices Fundraiser for employee Ibrahim Ballout
On Tuesday, August 4, at 6pm, Ibrahim Ballout and wife Carol were at home when their apartment building was rocked by a massive explosion. The blast destroyed much of the port and ravaged the heart of the city’s vibrant downtown district. The explosion severely damaged their apartment as well as their car. Thankfully, Ibrahim and his wife are safe and unharmed. He says, “We will remain at the apartment as we have isolated the damaged rooms here and the hotels are at full capacity. Much better to leave those rooms to people in need of a place as around 300,000 people had to evacuate their homes.”
The explosion has killed at least 135 people, injured at least 5,000. Dozens are still missing and many buildings were reduced to rubble.
Ibrahim works for CooperSurgical as the Regional Business Manager for Middle East, Africa and Turkey. Ibrahim joined CooperSurgical in January of this year. Previously he was International Markets Sales Manager for Plasti Lab, a laboratory equipment company based in Lebanon. Ibraham played forward for the Lebanese National Rugby Team.
Ibrahim sends out a big “thank you” to everyone at CooperSurgical for their support during this time – it means a lot to him and his family just to have you there after this devastating experience.
Funds raised will be sent to Ibrahim for their use in home and car repair.
