Support Corban Phillips' Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On the afternoon of Saturday, August 24, Corban Phillips sustained a broken neck while practicing gymnastics, a sport that is a passion of his. From the moment the accident happened, Corban lost feeling in much of his body, especially his lower extremities. Luckily, due to the quick response from the Westfield Fire Department, Corban was transported to a local tier one trauma hospital, received an MRI, and underwent emergency surgery. The MRI revealed Corban's spinal cord was being compressed, but the surgery was able to relieve that pressure.

Despite a successful surgery, Corban's condition is fragile and his prognosis is still unknown, and it will be weeks before Corban's family will know if he'll be able to walk again. Corban will spend the next several weeks in the intensive care unit, then he'll be transferred to a rehabilitation hospital for a longer stay. Best or worst case scenario, Corban and his family have a very long journey ahead of them, so your prayers are especially important at this time!

This Go Fund Me is being started to provide for the loss of income this family will incur due to April taking a leave of absence from work, anticipated medical expenses, and the possibility that modifications will need to be made to the Phillips' home. We want the Phillips Family to be able to throw themselves into Corban's recovery and not to have to worry about finances during this unexpected and traumatic time.

The Phillips are such a kind, loving family, and they involve themselves heart and soul into any organization or volunteer opportunity they become part of.

One of Corban's other passions is rugby, and the Phillips have quickly become an integral part of our Westfield Shamrocks Rugby Club. Our club views them as family, and it's our honor to assist in starting this Go Fund Me on their behalf. It's our hope that we can help the Phillips during their time of need and alleviate some of their suffering. Any amount you can give would be so greatly appreciated. Also, please keep prayers coming for strength for April, Matt, and Caelyn as they navigate this difficult time; for wisdom for the doctors managing Corban's care; and for Corban's mind to stay strong and his body to heal and fully recover!

We are and will remain #CorbanStrong!
