Support Cricket Fights Cancer

Donation protected

Cricket Fights Cancer is a charitable initiative dedicated to raising money and awareness toward cancer research. Its foundation is in process by Morten Kriek while he is suffering from two types of blood cancer, a splenic marginal zone lymphoma and Leukaemia.

Morten is a former youth international from Netherlands, who also played professional cricket in England for two years. The sport  has always been important for him. In February '21 he started with chemotherapy treatments, which were increased late May. Morten is targeting a return to village cricket on July 3rd, which is also his birthday.

Morten's second sport is ice-hockey, another sport in which he represented his country. He has been inspired by former NHL professional John Cullen, who also suffered from a non-Hodgkin lymphoma and in 1998 created the successful charity organization Hockey Fights Cancer.

Cricketers from around the world have rallied in support, which has resulted in a charity match late August or early September. Nearly two dozen former internationals from The Netherlands have committed to play in this charity game. The T20 game will be between  a Netherlands All Star XI and a Kriek XI, made up of players Morten has played with during his 28 seasons of cricket.

In the near future we will announce the full teams on this page. They are nearly complete already, but the players will be announced one-by-one in our social media channels, before we publish them here.

Cricket Fights Cancer will use all collected funds towards  cancer awareness and research.

Thanks for your support!
