Crucial Medical Care to Rural Homes in the Andes

Tax deductible
In the community of Mojandita Curubi, located in the hills outside of Otavalo, Ecuador, many families and elders live without access to much-needed medical care. Long distances and limited financial resources can make it extremely difficult to visit the Health Clinic.

We are fundraising to ensure that rural homes and elders receive critical medical care for the next 12 months. Once a week, a medical team and a driver spend a 10-hour day driving on nearly impassable roads and walking down narrow and steep paths to visit some of the poorest families in the area.

You can cover one week of the medical team's travel and medical supplies by donating $250, but the Mojandita Curubi community will greatly appreciate any amount.

HISTORY
The Mojandita Curubi Health Clinic, a longstanding partner of Wichana Foundation, has operated for more than twenty years in the rural community to provide healthcare, dental care and support for children, youth, families and elders. For the first time, the Health Center team is providing home visits for those whose physical condition and rural location make it difficult for them to visit the Clinic. Expanding on the current Clinic operations, the home visits will ensure that the community's most rural, at-risk populations will receive healthcare.
