Support Crystal's Recovery After ER Attack

Last night, a nurse that I work with was severely injured following a targeted attack by a patient. I wasn't there, but I know that Crystal is an amazing nurse. She has helped and saved so many lives throughout her career. To wake up to her post this morning was heartbreaking. She will be out of work for months, at least, and her income significantly contributed to the financial stability of her family. I am starting this to assist her and her family with bills and whatever else they need to get through this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

As I lay here tonight thinking about the road ahead of me… I question my life’s career decisions.

A patient physically attacked me last night in the ER, placing me into a chokehold, slamming my head onto the floor, breaking a bone, and destroying my knee, which will likely require surgery to repair. I made a decision 17 years ago to serve my community and last night’s events make me question why.

Tonight she walks free, while I lay in pain, wondering how I will provide for my family that has so unselfishly shared me with the medical community, our community. I have missed birthdays, family and friend functions, and sporting events for my children for 15 years just so one ungrateful, selfish person could ruin it all.
