*Aug 20, 2024 Update*

Surgery was a SUCCESS!! The doctors successfully removed the mass. They were able to salvage more of his organs than they originally expected.

Recovery is now Curtis’ main focus while awaiting pathology results to come back.

Thank you all for the continued support and prayers for Curtis and Abby. It’s working!

Aug 9, 2024 Update

Chemotherapy is no longer an option for Curtis at this time due to the amount of cortisol the tumor is producing. Surgery has been scheduled, again, for early morning August 20 to remove the tumor and affected organs.

Please continue to lift Curtis and Abby in your prayers. With all that life has thrown their way over the past few months, they both remain steadfast and focused on fighting this battle together. Their optimism is a true representation of who they are and why they are so beloved.

*Battling All Odds*

In only a few months’ time, newlyweds Curtis and Abby Goins have had their lives seemingly turned upside down. What started as a routine visit to see his doctor to address a minor medical concern, was dramatically upgraded when his physician found a large mass in his abdomen. Due to family history, Curtis was referred to the top medical facility University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Further testing revealed the mass had spread to multiple organs.

With rising medical costs and additional testing, Curtis and his wife, Abby, made the difficult decision to sell personal items and move temporarily to Houston while Curtis undergoes treatment, surgery and recovery that could last up to 4 months.

More recently, his scheduled surgery was postponed to start chemo treatment in an effort to stop the mass from spreading to further organs.

This page has been established without the knowledge of Curtis and Abby. Our hope is to help offset the cost of medical bills and their out-of-state temporary lodging. The ability to focus on healing and not be burdened by financial hardship will help alleviate additional stressors. If you are unable, a show of support by wishing well wishes will also provide strength and encouragement to Curtis and his family.

We ask that you do not reach out to the family directly during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep all his supporters, friends, family and coworkers informed. All funds will be forwarded directly to Curtis and Abby.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity and support.
