Support DACA Recipients' Journey to See Family
Donation protected
- Hi and thank you for being here! Some of my siblings and I were brought into this country as children from Mexico in the early 2000s to escape violence but sadly not the correct legal way. We are now on DACA - deferred action for childhood arrivals- and are allowed to work and pay taxes but not vote or travel. We have to renew every 2 years too, its such a blessing but also such a temporary and insufficient solution. I'm asking for help to cover immigration legal fees and attorney costs so my brother sister and I can apply for advanced parole to see our grandma in Mexico. For as you know who is taking office soon and we do not know what will change or if DACA will get taken away completely. This process will give us a "legal entry" and open up paths to a residency and citizenship via marriage or work sponsorships. The application is 630 a piece and lawyer fees are about 500 each. If anything goes over what is needed for our advanced parole applications, we will use the funds for my mother's immigration situation which is an expired visa. But my little bother is 21 now and can petition for her, but that is also very pricy. We are a hardworking family and all have jobs but this economy is no joke and all we can do is ask for help and keep hustling. Thank you again for listening!
