Support Daisy's Surgery and Fence Repair
Donation protected
Hi all,
On the evening of Friday, January 31, 2025, our dog Daisy escaped our fence and ventured toward a busy main road about 2.5 miles away from our house. After my wife, in-laws, and I spent a collective 7 hours actively searching for her, we received a devastating call that she had been struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Paul Huff Pkwy and Mouse Creek Rd according to witnesses. Unbelievably, she survived with only a dislocated hip and some mild trauma.
We are scheduling her for surgery, and as you might expect, we also need to secure our fence (for the fourth time in 4 years) so subsequent escapes aren't possible. These expenses come six weeks prior to the arrival of our fourth child, so the timing is challenging. With all of this in mind, we are requesting financial assistance from our community, friends, family, and fellow dog-lovers.
I want to add here that times are difficult, and if you cannot afford to buy yourself a cup of coffee, your well-wishes will suffice; we don't expect you to strain yourself financially for us. We love you all the same.
The goal is intended to cover the cost of Daisy's surgery and subsequent recovery, the repair of the small run of our fence that's compromised, and perhaps a very strong harness/collar for another dog down the road from us who frequently slips out of his current collar, runs to our house, and proceeds to dig around our fence and jump over it, teaching and helping our dogs find clever ways to escape (this is an ongoing problem spanning about 8 weeks now). Thank you to anyone able and willing to assist us with this. Words can't express how humbled we are by your kindness and generosity, and how much we appreciate you.
