Support for Cremation of Dale Atkins

Family and friends, I come to you humbly in the name of Jesus asking for prayers for our family. Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to stop medical treatment for our father Jackie Dale Atkins. Dale was diagnosed with cancer on September 11, 2024 and his body began to break down rapidly. Saturday he was admitted to Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He had emergency surgery on is abdomen where they found a mass and a clot that cause his intestine to die and become septic. Dale fought hard through the surgery but his body could not maintain itself. This morning at 8:30 after consulting with all physicians, myself Chris, Brittany, and Dale's fiancé Angela, agreed that his body had had enough and his spirit was no longer residing there in the flesh. The entire family was blessed to be with him for his final breaths. To say the we are devastated is an understatement. This family has been through so much death and heartbreak in the last few years it is unbearable.

If you knew Dale you couldn't help but to love him. He absolutely loved his children and adored his grandchildren. His love or his fiancé Angela was undoubted. Dale lived to make others laugh and entertained us all with his jokes, dancing, and famous anecdotes. . Time after time he lifted all of our spirits with his outgoing personality. Dale loved music and playing the drums. He found his peace by the river bank frequently. Dale was well loved by us all.

We are absolutely devastated by Dale’s passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of the service. Our family was not prepared for the high cost of a funeral, and during this difficult time, we are reaching out to the community for help. We want to give Dale the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. It would mean a lot if you could share Dale’s funeral fundraiser with others who knew him.
