Support Dan Farabaugh's Final Days at Home

Sadly this will be a finale update:

Family and friends with a heavy heart I’ll pass on that Dan has went to be with the lord today he will truly be missed by all! Let’s all say a prayer for the family tonight!

I’m calling and counting on all of you that can help this family in a time of need. Dan Farabaugh, who is my friend and also my direct neighbor, was admitted to the hospital on Friday, August 9th, 2024, with cirrhosis which has shut down his liver and therefore also suddenly and acutely shut down his kidneys in such a severe way that there was time discussed to start Hemodialysis and to have him placed on a liver transplant list. For the past 7 days, the doctors had tried everything they could to try and get his blood lab levels to turn in a better direction with no success.

Now, after being admitted to the hospital for the past 7 days, the family as well as myself has spoken to specialists that actually do the liver transplants and after running all the numbers, the specialist places Dan at a 20% chance of living long enough to be put on the liver transplant wait list. So the options were to try everything and keep him in the hospital away from his family and farm for the 1 month in which the doctors expected his medical condition to continue to deteriorate until they could see if they could even have him survive to be put on the list or to send him home asap so he could enjoy the last few days to weeks that he has left around his farm, family, and friends and all the things that matter to him. Dan himself as well as the family has decided to honor his wishes and he was brought home tonight on hospice care to live the last days of his life around the things he loves. His wife, his children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and his animals.
