Support Dan Lafferty During His Illness & Healing

Hi, my name is Nancy Larocque and I am requesting help with relieving some of Dan Lafferty's home(mortgage and household bills) financial stressors while he awaits surgery, and during his recovery. Two weeks before Christmas Dan was given the news that what was making him sick for the past 4 months may be cancer. Two days after Christmas a biopsy confirmed that he has Stage Two Stomach Cancer. Surgery will hopefully take place in the next month or two.

Dan is a single father that shares custody of his son. When Dan isn't working hard at the job he loves, working anywhere from 15 to 18 hour days, he is playing hard with his son, from lego building, playing on every single piece of equipment at the park to being soft with the continuous "I love yous" and dozens upon dozens of hugs daily. When he doesn't have his son he is like a lost puppy, not knowing what to do with himself. I will like to make the next few months stress-free for Dan so he can stay focused on his son and not the stress of his mortgage and household bills.

Dan is struggling with not working since the beginning of December, as he has been working since he was a teen and had tried to work in early December, but his illness took over and he just couldn't do it.

Along with this recent diagnosis, in July of 2021, Dan suffered a heart attack that is resulting in him requiring a pacemaker. This surgery has been postponed with no rescheduled date.

I am sure that what I write next Dan's many family and friends will agree with me. In the last year and a half of getting to know Dan more, I have witnessed him help his family at the drop of a dime, many of them still home in the NT, helping them the best he could. He struggles daily missing his family in the NT, more so during this hard time. Facetiming his family almost daily. With hopes of one day being home to visit his family soon.

I have witnessed Dan helping many people that he doesn't know as well, such as an elderly woman walking across a slippery surface to stopping on the side of the road to see if people are ok. He does not hesitate to make people laugh no matter the situation or where he is! He always leaves an impression on everyone he meets.

On a personal level, he has helped me adjust to life away from all of my family. He has shown me such kindness and protection and that there are still great guys out there. He has helped me overcome so much, a lot I know he doesn't even know he has done. Just by simply making me laugh or telling me to breathe when he notices me getting nervous or worked up. I wouldn't have asked for a better person to spend my time with. I hope with this GOFundMe I can help him a bit.
