Support Dan Tuck through Cancer and End of Life Care
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My family is facing the most challenging moment of our lives, and today, I am reaching out to ask for your support. My dad, Dan Tuck, has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and our little family is struggling to provide him with comfort and peace of mind in his final days.
Throughout the summer, my dad faced what doctors initially believed to be an intestinal infection. Despite treatments, his condition worsened. In late September, he was hospitalized for 18 days. It was then that doctors discovered a tumor causing a bowel blockage. Tragically, the cancer had spread beyond what surgery could manage. Instead, they bypassed the blockage and placed an ileostomy bag. At this time, we received the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread.
To make matters even more challenging, my dad had become severely malnourished due to the cancer and blockages. He was supposed to begin at-home IV nutrition (TPN), but due to a national shortage of IV supplies following Hurricane Helene, this crucial treatment was canceled. At his last weigh-in, he was down to only 80 lbs.
After careful consideration and guidance from doctors, he has made the courageous decision not to pursue chemotherapy or other treatments, choosing instead to spend time with our family and friends. He is now at home, being cared for by my mom and myself, and enrolled in hospice care.
In addition to the physical and emotional strain, my mom lost her job while my dad was hospitalized. This has left them with no steady income. This loss has made it nearly impossible to keep up with expenses, including the overdue property taxes on their home, which is now at risk of foreclosure in March 2025.
To add to the strain, I had been off work as a massage therapist since the end of August due to a fractured arm. My arm has finally healed, and I was just getting ready to return to work when all three of us tested positive for COVID and were ill for several days. This has added further uncertainty to our situation.
As their only child, it pains me to see my parents in such distress. They have always been there for me, providing love and support through every challenge. Now, I am asking for your help to provide them with some support and peace of mind during this tumultuous time.
The funds raised will be used for:
Property Tax Payments - To help keep their home safe and secure.
Basic Living Expenses - To cover essential bills, including utilities and groceries.
Cremation Costs - As we prepare for the inevitable, we want to ensure that my dad is honored and that my mom is not left with this financial burden alone.
Every dollar donated will go directly to my parents, providing them with the support they need to navigate this heartbreaking journey. Your generosity would provide much-needed relief and allow us to focus on providing my dad with comfort and peace of mind during this difficult time.
We are truly grateful for any support you can offer, whether it’s through donations, positive thoughts and prayers, or by sharing this campaign.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and support,
Dani Tuck
